Modi U-turn helps opposition to unite

New Delhi: The biggest policy U-turn of the Prime Minister repealing three controversial agricultural laws helps his opponents in coming five state Assembly elections if they put the united fight against BJP.

So far the opposition has failed to capitalize on the missteps of the ruling BJP. In 2016 Modi announced demonetization, which has made an adverse impact on the citizens across the country, but the opposition has failed to capitalize on the biggest missteps of the ruling party.

Even in Lakhimpur Kheri violence, the Union minister son was arrested for mowing down the agitating farmers by his SUV, but opposition parties have not made any big impact against the ruling dispensation on this issue.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, leader of the main opposition Congress party, was among the first to reach Lakhimpur Kheri. Other PM Modi opponents in the state, which holds a key election early next year, also raced to the scene. But instead of joining forces, they all held separate rallies. If the opposition joins the hands in the rally, it would have a big impact on the Yogi Adityanath government in UP.

Baljit Singh, 30, a farmer from the state who was at the scene of last month's violence and voted for the BJP in the 2019 national election, said that he would support anyone other than PM Modi even after he vowed to repeal the farm laws. But even he wasn't sure which party he would vote for.
