Neeraj Chopra creates history, brings Gold for India in Tokyo2020
Tokyo: India scripted history in Tokyo 2020, Indian Javelin superstar, Neeraj Chopra won the gold medal in Men’s Javelin throw finals here on Saturday. With this historic win, India bags the first gold medal in Tokyo Olympics.
India has ended its gold drought in the Olympics game by winning first gold in the athletic category, Neeraj throws at a distance of 87.58 meters.
In the 2008 Beijing Olympics Indian shooter, Abhinav Bindra won the gold medal in the individual category. India's only individual Olympic gold medalist. His gold in the 10-meter air rifle event at the 2008 Summer Olympics.

World’s Junior Asian, Commonwealth, and Asian Championships games, Neeraj Chopra, won gold medals. Today in his first attempt, he finished 87.03 meters, crossed much ahead from his nearest contestants. His nearest contestants are not reached to his distance despite six attempts. Mr. Chopra has reposed the confidence of winning gold for India in the Olympics after his win at the junior level.

Serving army officer, he brought 7th medal for India and did a better performance in last London Olympics. It was the first medal for India in the athletic division since the inception of the Olympics in the last 101 years.
Other contestants J. Vadlejch – 86.67 meters and V. Vesely- 85.44 meters both are from the Czech Republic, won silver and bronze, respectively. J. Weber from Germany finished in 4th place with a distance of 85.30 meters.
President Ramnath Kovid, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, union ministers, and Hariyana Chief Minister Mohanlal Khattar have congratulated Neeraj Chopra. He said he will personally receive Mr. Chopra at the airport during his return to India. Mr. Khattar has announced Rs. 6 crore to Chopra for his historic win in Tokyo2020. People have celebrated across the country for India's historic performance in Tokyo2020.
