CM Bommai clears rumours, 'No lockdown in Karnataka'
Bengaluru: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai reiterated that government will not impose lockdown following the new variant Omicron found in many countries.
Speaking to reporters here on Tuesday, Mr. Bommai requested the people not to give attention to the rumours about the lockdown. “ There is no proposal before the lockdown before the government, Covid restrictions on functions and programs will be continued. Chief Minister has requested the people to adhere to the Covid protocols in public places and also requested to avoid rushes in crowded areas.
Covid test increases
The government has given instructions to the civic authorities to keep a vigil on the new variant Omicron. A cluster has been formed to monitor the Covid cases, if necessary containment zones will be declared where Covid cases are more. Passengers who arrived from abroad will be monitored, if any positive cases are found, passengers will be put under home quarantine for 15 days, Mr. Bommai said.
