Operation Ganga: 7 flights will bring 1200 Indian from Ukraine today

New Delhi: India will carry out another major evacuation process from war-hit Ukraine, 7 flights flown to Poland, Romania, and Hungary to bring 1200 Indian nationals home.
External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jayshnkar tweeted, “ Today, 7 flights will bring approximately 1,200 Indian nationals home”.
Meanwhile, a special flight carrying 160 Indian nationals evacuated from Ukraine lands in Delhi from Budapest in Hungary.
Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Hardeep Singh Puri said that four buses on its way to Poltava to evacuate Indians stranded in Sumy.
Under operation Ganga, more than 10,800 Indian nationals stranded in war-torn Ukraine has brought back by special flights, these flights were flown to neighboring countries of Ukraine and brought back Indian nationals, especially students. The majority of students are studying medicine in Kyiv, Kharkiv and Sumy.
The evacuation process was carried out by three Indian Air Force C-17 aircraft and 14 civilian flights, with one more civilian flight expected to arrive later today.
Two Russian IL-76 strategic lift planes are on standby to fly out to Moscow as soon as Indian nationals evacuated from the northeastern cities of Kharkiv and Sumi are taken to the Russian capital.
According to the government, the C-17 aircraft carried 630 passengers, while the civilian flights evacuated 9,364 Indian nationals. A total of seven IAF flights have brought back 1,428 Indian nationals and delivered 9.7 tonnes of relief material to Ukraine.
The Centre stated that 15 evacuation flights have already been operated” as part of Operation Ganga to evacuate stranded Indians “and 26 flights have been planned to evacuate all Indian nationals stranded in Ukraine Centre said.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi “has spoken to the leaders of Russia, Ukraine, Romania, Slovak Republic and Poland regarding safety and facilitation of evacuation of Indian nationals from Ukraine”.
