Following the withdrawal of three controversial laws by the Centre, and the same has been repealed in the Parliament in the ongoing Winter Session of the Parliament.

New Delhi: Farmers celebrate as they leave their protest site Kaushambi (Delhi-Uttar Pradesh border) on Wednesday after suspending their year-long protest against the three controversial farm laws passed by the Centre. 

Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) leader Rakesh Tikait said, "I am thankful to everyone who has been with us. I also extend my gratitude to the people who ran langars, villagers who brought essentials for us. Talks underway with the Centre after withdrawal of 3 farm laws. Our movement is suspended, not withdrawn".  

Following the withdrawal of three controversial laws by the Centre, and the same has been repealed in the ongoing Winter Session of the Parliament. 

Also, the Centre has agreed to form a committee to decide the  Minimum Support Price (MSP) issue. The committee will comprise government officials, agriculture experts and representatives from Kisan Morcha. The government has also agreed to drop all police cases against farmers, including stubble burning complaints and those filed by Haryana and Uttar Pradesh police following clashes with protesters.
