Pak PM Imran Khan meets army chief, cancels his address to Nation

Islamabad: After losing the majority in the Parliament, pressure is mounting on Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan to step down. However, he met the Pakistan army chief.
Section of Pakistan media also reported that Imran Khan has cancelled his address to the nation, this announcement has come after his meeting with the Army general.
In another development, Imran Khan has met the powerful Pakistan Army chief Bajwa and ISI DG Nadeem, later he takes the decision to cancelling his address to the Nation.
The major ally of PTI led government's MQM-P has withdrawn support to the Imran Khan government today. With the withdrawal of support, the exit of Imran Khan is imminent, but he is waiting for no-confidence motion proceedings scheduled to start on March 31 and voting would take place on April 3.
Sources close to Mr. Khan say that the resignation of Cricketer-turned politician is unlikely, he will fight the political game till the last ball is left. His meeting with the Army chief is clear evidence that Mr. Khan is trying hard to stay in the PM post.
Pakistan Army plays a major role in forming or throwing the governments in Pakistan. In previous instances, Army has installed a government of its choice. In fact, Army played a crucial role in bringing the Imran Khan government in the 2018 general elections. It was alleged that large scale of rigging took place in the elections on the behest of the Pak army to install its puppet government.
