Pak PM Imran Khan praises India’s foreign policy
"Main aaj Hindustan ki daad deta hun (Today I praise India) as the country always had its independent foreign policy. Today, India is in their (America) alliance and they are part of QUAD (Quadrilateral Security Dialogue); they say that they are neutral.
New Delhi: India has received appreciation from the unexpected corners for its Non-Allain foreign policy, Pakistan Prime Minister, Imran Khan who is facing flack not only from the opposition parties but also from his own party colleagues for his ‘gross mismanagement of the economy, surprisingly has praised the foreign policies of India.
Khan said during his address to Pakistan when he was listing the ‘achievements of his government for the development of Pakistan.
The Khan’s government is facing no confidence motion where the voting is scheduled to be held on March 25.
"Main aaj Hindustan ki daad deta hun (Today I praise India) as the country always had its independent foreign policy. Today, India is in their (America) alliance and they are part of QUAD (Quadrilateral Security Dialogue); they say that they are neutral. They are importing oil from Russia despite sanctions because their policy is for the betterment of people," Khan said during a public rally in the Malakand area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
What is interesting is that unlike other members of the Quad alliance which includes Japan, Australia and America, India abstained in three UN votes calling to condemn Russia’s actions. India did not vote, however it only called for a halt to the violence.
It may be noted that Khan was in Moscow on the day of the Ukraine invasion and his government has also abstained from voting against Russia.
Amid that, Ministers close to Khan allege that the no-confidence motion which was moved by the opposition is part of a conspiracy by foreign powers in the west to topple his government.
While this is the view of his party supporters, the opposition and some disgruntled leaders of his party accuse him of destroying the economy of Pakistan with his policies.
In the past, reacting to the allegations, Khan had reacted that he did not join politics to check the prices of potatoes and tomatoes.
