Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday called up Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on the flood situation caused by heavy rains in the state.
Bengaluru: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday called up Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on the flood situation caused by heavy rains in the state.
The chief minister said on Twitter that the prime minister has grief over the loss of lives and property.
"Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji spoke to me on the flood situation caused by heavy rains in the state. PM expressed grief over the loss of lives and deep concern over the crop damages. PM assured all possible support from the Centre".

Meanwhile, Bommai visited inspected Kendriya Vihar Apartment, after heavy rains overflowed the Yelahanka Lake and water flooded into Kendriya Vihar and surrounding areas in Bengaluru.
According to reports,Bengaluru is likely to receive light to moderate showers for the next 48 hours. Thunderstorm with lightning is likely over the next 24 hours at isolated places over Karnataka.
