Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday arrived in Nowshera, Jammu and Kashmir, to celebrate Diwali with soldiers.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday arrived in Nowshera, Jammu and Kashmir, to celebrate Diwali with soldiers. 

At the oustset, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid  tribute to soldiers who lost their lives in the line of duty, at Nowshera.

The prime minister greeted people on the occasion of the festival of lights. "Greetings to the countrymen on the auspicious occasion of Diwali. I wish that this festival of lights brings happiness, prosperity and good fortune to your life. Wishing everyone a very Happy Diwali". 

PM Modi had spent Diwali with the soldiers in Rajouri in 2019 as well. After becoming the Prime Minister in 2014, Modi is going to celebrate Diwali for the fourth time on the Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh border. In 2020, PM Modi celebrated Diwali with soldiers at Longawala border located in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan.

He had celbrated Diwali in Siachen, Srinagar, Bandipora. In 2017, he celebrated Diwali with Army and BSF personnel in Bandipora.
