PM Modi in US: Thanks Indian diaspora for warm welcome

Washington DC: Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Washington D.C.(22 September 2021, local time) for his visit to the United States of America at the invitation of President Joe Biden of the USA.

Prime Minister Modi was received by T. H. Brian McKeon, Deputy Secretary of State for Management and Resources on behalf of the government of the USA. Also, he was welcomed by India's Ambassador to the US Taranjit Singh Sandhu, along with the Defence attache including Brigadier Anoop Singhal, Air Commodore Anjan Bhadra and naval attache Commodore Nirbhaya Bapna.

Members of the Indian diaspora were also present at the Andrews airbase, and they cheerfully welcomed Prime Minister.

"Grateful to the Indian community in Washington DC for the warm welcome. Our diaspora is our strength. It is commendable how the Indian diaspora has distinguished itself across the world," said PM Modi

Over the next two days, PM Modi will be meeting US President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, Prime Minister of Australia Scott Morrison, Japan PM Yoshihide Suga. He will attend the Quad meeting and would also interact with leading CEOs to highlight economic opportunities in India.
