Plum portfolios goes to RSS backed ministers, seniors retained old portfolios
Bengaluru: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has allotted plum portfolios to the newly inducted ministers who have associated with RSS, senior ministers are retained their old portfolios.
Four days after forming his Cabinet, the Chief Minister has allotted the portfolios to the ministers after discussing with RSS and BJP central leaders. Major portfolios, like Home, Energy and Social Welfare has been allotted to Araga Jnanendra, V.Sunil Kumar and Kota Srinivasa Poojari, respectively. All are from RSS background.
Mr. Bommai has retained Finance and Bengaluru Development portfolios. Following immense lobbying from senior ministers, R. Ashok, V. Somanna, and Somashekar for the Bengaluru development portfolio, the Chief Minister has decided to keep this portfolio with him.

Allotting plum portfolios to Araga Jnanendra, Sunil Kumar and Kota Sriniva Poojari clearly show that, both RSS and party central leadership has prevailed upon the Chief Minister in allotting plum portfolios to leaders who have strongly associated with Sangh parivar.
At the same time, RSS and BJP central leaders send a strong message to the senior ministers, K.S. Eshwarappa, R. Ashok, V. Somanna, that they will not budge any pressure tactics of them for plum portfolios.
Like party central leadership has completely ignored its mascot B.S.Yediyurappa while allotting the portfolios. Senior minister and party SC face, Govinda Karjol got Major and Medium Irrigation, earlier he has handled PWD portfolio.

Transport and newly created ST welfare portfolio has been allotted to Valmiki community strongman and party ST face, B. Sreeramalu, earlier he has handled Social Welfare Department.
PWD portfolio has been allotted to C.C. Patil. PWD is considered as another major department. Murugesh Nirani has been able to obtain his favorite portfolio of Large and Medium Industries.

K.S.. Eshwarappa- RDPR, R. Ashok- Revenue, V. Somanna- Housing, Infrastructure Development, Umesh Katti- Forest, Food and Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs. Additional forest department allotted to him, earlier it was handled by Aravind Limbavali, S. Angara- Fisheries, Ports and Inland Transport, J.C. Madhuswamy- Minor Irrigation, Law and Parliamentary Affairs and Legislation,

Dr. Ashwathnarayana- Higher Education, IT and BT, Science and Technology, Skill development, Anand Singh-Ecology and Environment, Tourism, Prabhu Chauhan- Animal Husbandry. Shivaram Hebbar- Labour, S.T Somashekhar- Co-operation, B.C.Patil- Agriculture, Byrati Basavaraj- Urban development ( excluding Bengaluru Development), Dr. K. Sudhakar- Health and Family Welfare, Medical Education. K. Gopalaiah- Excise department, Shashikala Jolle-Muzarai, Haj, and Wakf. Following his alleged kickbacks in the Women and Child development department, Women and Child Development, the Chief Minister has changed her earlier portfolio.
M.T.B. Nagaraj- Municipal Administration, Small Scale Industries, Narayanagowda- Sericulture, Youth Empowerment and Sports, Newly inducted ministers, B.C.Nagesh got Primary and Secondary Education ministry, Halappa Achar was allotted Mines and Geology, Women and Child Development, Shankar Patil Munenakoppa was obtained Textile and Handloom department, additionally, he got Sugar portfolio and Munirathna was allotted Horticulture and Planning, Programme Monitoring and Statistics department.
