Apple Names Indian-Origin Executive Sabih Khan as New Chief Operating Officer

Apple Inc. has appointed Sabih Khan, an Indian-origin executive and seasoned company veteran, as its new Chief Operating Officer, marking a key leadership transition as he succeeds Jeff Williams. Khan, who has been with Apple for three decades and currently serves as Senior Vice President of Operations, will formally take over the role later this month.

Who is Sabih Khan?
Born in 1966 in Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, Khan spent part of his early life in Singapore before moving to the United States. He holds dual bachelor’s degrees in economics and mechanical engineering from Tufts University and a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI).

Khan began his professional journey at GE Plastics before joining Apple’s procurement team in 1995. Over the years, he has played a central role in building and optimizing Apple’s global supply chain, leading supplier responsibility initiatives, and driving the company’s operational excellence to ensure the smooth delivery of its flagship products.

Khan’s appointment comes as India assumes greater significance in Apple’s worldwide strategy—not only as a booming consumer market but also as a fast-growing manufacturing base.
