Bengaluru: Sandalwood is in deep shock following the untimely demise of multi-talented superstar Puneeth Rajkumar after a massive heart attack here on Friday.

Mr. Puneeth Rajkumar was the fifth and youngest son of Varanata Dr. Rajkumar and producer Parvathamma Rajkumar. Puneeth has started his carrier as a child artist, sharing screens with his father Rajkumar in Vasantha Geetha, Bhagyavantha, Chalisuva Modagalu, and Bhakta Prahalad. Bhakta Prahaladha has given fame and name to child artist Puneeth. For Bettada Hoovu film he won a national award. Acted in nearly 27 films, two days back he shared a dais with his elder brother Shivarajkumar for the big-scale release of Bhajarangi 2.  

He made his debut as a lead role in Appu, directed by him. Given a series of hit films after that, Abhi, Maurya, Akash, and Ajay.

His simple and easy style of acting has mesmerized his fans. His recent films are attracted to a family audience. His mass hero role also brings a good name and fame to him.  His role in Milana brings state award to him, this family dram story has appealed the mass audience.

Another box office hit film was 'Raajkumara', which earned Rs. 75 crore in the box office. His last film was 'Yuvarathna', released on April 1.

Besides, Puneeth Rajkumar has hosted a TV show of 'Kannada Kotyadipathi', the Kannada version of the quiz game of Kaun Banega Crorepati. His show was widely appreciated across Karnataka.

He maintained fitness and followed a healthy diet for his profession. In several films he himself did stunts, big projects Dvitva, James are launched recently. His dedication to his profession was appreciated by all. 

He was a dancer and singer too. The Kannada film industry has lost versatile actors. As Chief Minister said his passes away was big loss to Karnataka.

He stands tall amongst his contemporaries, he was the only child artist gone on flourish later too. Many child artists have not attained the achievement in the later stage of their carrier what Puneeth achieved.

As a child artist, his popular films are Bettada Hoovu, Chalisuva Modagalu, Bhakta Prahladha.

Appu was his debuted film as hero role, Milana brings him a household name in Karnataka and get a large section of a family audience.
