Chandigarh: Navjot Singh Sidhu is once again in the news for the wrong reasons, though he agreed to withdraw his resignation to the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee chief, his latest tussle with the Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi worries grand old party.

The state will go for elections in 2022, the ongoing tussle between Punjab Congress President the two warring leaders, but Sidhu has no mood to cooperate with the Chief Minister.

Earlier Sidhu was fought with Captain Amarinder Singh, he openly demanded the resignation of Mr. Singh, succumbing to his pressure the party high command has asked Mr. Singh to resign to CM post. Mr. Sidhu was behind in appointing party Dalit leader Charanjit Singh Channi as the Chief Minister. Even after his man become CM, Mr. Sidhu did not stop his outspokenness. His sudden resignation to the PCC post brings huge embracement to the party, after the intervention of Rahul Gandhi, Mr. Sidhu has agreed to withdraw his resignation.

But even after withdrawing his resignation, he sent an open letter to the Congress President Sonia Gandhi raising 13 key elections issues to discuss with her. Meanwhile, he openly spat with Chief Minister Channi for his style of functioning.

With regard to party functioning, both Sidhu and Channi has locked horns. Sources said that during Sunday meeting with party functionaries, Mr. Sidhu has said in presence of party observer Harish Chaudhary, had asked Channi for an account of the government's work, which has infuriated the CM. Channi has even asked Sidhu should become the Chief Minister for two months and run the show, sources said that both have exchanged heated arguments.

The agitated CM even offered to quit, sources said. The meeting was also attended by Congress observer Harish Chaudhary, Rahul Gandhi's close aide Krishna Allavaru and cabinet minister Pargat Singh.

Recently, a video had now gone viral which showed Navjot Singh Sidhu using foul language against Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi during Thursday's protest march against the Lakhimpur Kheri violence.

He openly yelled that “this man (Channi) will sink the Congress in 2022 (assembly election)," Sidhu is heard saying in the video. That video was shot near Mohali airport when Sidhu and other leaders were waiting for CM Channi to join the protest march headed for Lakhimpur Kheri in Uttar Pradesh.
