Punjab police knocks door of BJP leader in Dehli for arrest
Jindal claimed that police from Punjab, where Mr Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi Party, or AAP, is in power, arrived in a car "to arrest me."
Punjab Police knocked the doors of the residence of Delhi BJP spokesperson Naveen Kumar Jindal following a complaint about tweeting false footage of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
Jindal claimed that police from Punjab, where Mr Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi Party, or AAP, is in power, arrived in a car "to arrest me."
"I'm not going to be scared of him (Arvind Kejriwal). I will continue to tell the public the truth,” Jindal wrote in Hindi, on his Twitter handle.
Punjab and Haryana High Court lawyer and a sub-inspector, Gagandeep Singh filed the complaint with Mohali police on Friday against Jindal for allegedly distributing a "doctored video footage" of Kejriwal on his Twitter profile.
This is the Punjab Police's second complaint against a Delhi BJP leader since the AAP took power in the state.
"According to the complainant, Jindal posted a cropped video from the actual clip of an interview given by Kejriwal to a television channel on his Twitter profile and digitally altered the original content. According to the complainant, portions of the Delhi Chief Minister's statements from the original interview were cut "the officer stated, adding that the tweet was published on April 6.
The "doctored" section of the film, according to the complaint, is about Kejriwal's comment about ensuring clean and transparent governance.
