Ram Navami is being celebrated with religious fervor and enthusiasm in different parts of country today. The festival marks the birth of Lord Rama, the seventh incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Ram Navami is celebrated on the ninth day of the Chaitra month. Prior to Ram Navami, Hindus observe a fast for nine days (Navratri) leading up to the festival.
President Droupadi Murmu has wished all countrymen on the holy festival of Ram Navami. In a social media post, she emphasized the values of religion, justice, and duty that the festival represents.
The President highlighted the concept of Ram Rajya, the ideal model of governance that Lord Ram established, which is revered for its principles of justice, welfare, and prosperity for all citizens. she also called upon the countrymen to take a pledge to work together for the creation of a developed India.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has greeted the people on the occasion of Ram Navami. In a social media post, he said, the blessings of Prabhu Shri Ram will always remain upon us and guide us in all our endeavours. Mr. Modi also expressed his anticipation for today’s visit to Rameshwaram.
In Ayodhya, devotees from all corners of the world have come to celebrate the birth anniversary of Lord Shri Ram. Special arrangements have been made by the Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra to ensure a seamless experience for devotees arriving for Ram Navami. Akashvani correspondent reports, Ramnagari Ayodhya is all set for celebrating the birth anniversary of Lord Ram. Devotees from all over the country and the world are reaching Ayodhya to offer prayers to Ramlala on this special occasion.
The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple has been decorated with special flowers. General Secretary of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, Champat Rai, informed that Ramlala will be offered 56 bhog on Ram Navami.
A special Surya Tilak will be applied on Ramlala’s forehead at 12:00 noon; it will last for about 4 minutes.
This historic moment will be carried out by a team of experts, and it will be broadcast live across the world. This time, water from the Saryu River will be sprinkled on the devotees through drone, while Deepotsav will also be organized in the evening.
To protect the devotees from the heat, temporary camps have been set up on Rampath, and drinking water has been arranged at 243 places. In view of the huge crowd of devotees, the administration has made strict security arrangements. For the convenience of common devotees, all special passes for Ram Mandir have been canceled from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon.
In Jammu and Kashmir, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah have extended their warm greetings to the people on the auspicious occasion of Ram Navami.
In his message, the Lieutenant Governor said that Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram embodies righteousness, justice, compassion, sacrifice, and humility. He expressed the hope that this festive occasion would inspire everyone to follow the ideals and values of Shri Ram’s life. He also prayed to Prabhu Shri Ram to bestow his blessings upon all for years to come.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah also conveyed his heartfelt greetings to the people of Jammu and Kashmir on this auspicious occasion. In his message, the Chief Minister described Shri Ram as the embodiment of righteousness, good conduct, and virtue.
He emphasized that as an ideal king and ruler, Shri Ram continues to rule the hearts of people through the ages, symbolizing humility, justice, and high moral values.
