Bengaluru: Director SS Rajamouli’s much-awaited magnum opus, RRR released in theatres on March 25. The huge budget movie, which is claimed to be made at an estimated cost of Rs 336 crore, was released worldwide and fans who were unable to contain their feelings for the movie stormed the cinema houses, where, according to initial response, the movie got good reviews.

The period drama starring NTR Jr, Ram Charan Teja, Ajay Devgn, and Alia Bhat opened to jam-packed houses. Huge crowds were seen at the cinema halls across India. Fans and cine stars were seen watching the early morning show of the movie.

Fans say that NTR Jr gave his best performance, and Ram Charan also. The film received positive reviews from critics, who called it a masterpiece. Despite its marathon run time, the movie makes the audience glued to the screen.

According to a report, RRR will be screened on at least 5,000 screens in the country. And it is said that the film received around 2,000 screens in the northern states, around 1,800 screens in Telugu-speaking states, 60 per cent of the 1,200 screens in Tamil Nadu, and around 400 screens in Karnataka. In Karnataka, the movie may not get single-screen theatres as the late Kannada star Puneeth Rajkumar’s last movie, James, is also running in its second week.

The theatre owners are planning early morning and mid-night shows to make the most of the craze of the audience, and the Telangana government is considering allowing screening of the movie during midnight, and the team is awaiting official confirmation from the government.

According to a newspaper report in Kerala, the movie will be exhibited on 10,000 screens. If the report is true, then RRR will break the record of Baahubali 2, which was released on 9,000 screens.
