Saathiya, Indian eatery in Kyiv, offers free meals

Kyiv: Tens of thousands of people in Kyiv, Ukraine's capital, are trying to find food and shelter as Russia continues to attack the country. Amid this dire scenario, Indian national Manish Dave, who owns the restaurant Saathiya, has kept his doors open to Kyiv locals. And his attempts to feed the hungry have garnered him popularity.
Many people are seeking refuge in this eatery, which has turned into a safe haven. According to the Times of India, up to 70 people are seeking refuge here.
Because of its placement in the basement of Chokolivs'kyi Boulevard, the restaurant's owner, Manish Dave, who is from Gujarat, claims that the restaurant has become a form of a bomb shelter.
People hurried to the restaurant with their suitcases as bombs burst around them. Those seeking shelter were provided free meals at the restaurant.
Because the restaurant is located in the basement, its owner likened it to a bomb bunker. People applauded the establishments' gestures. It was shared on Twitter by a handle called Good. The Twitter handle wrote “A man called Manish Dave has turned his restaurant into a shelter for over 125 vulnerable people in Ukraine. He and his staff cook food & risk their lives in search of ration for them all. The world needs more people like Manish Dave.”
Dave is running the restaurant with a limited supply of rations, having stocked up on milk, veggies, and rice last Friday while the market was open for a brief period.
