Genome sequencing testing lab in state to test Omicron virus: Bommai
Hubballi: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said that the government has taken steps to set up a genome sequencing lab in the state for quick testing results of the Omicron variant of Coronavirus.
Speaking to reporters here on Tuesday before he leaving to Belagavi for the Legislative Elections campaign for a party candidate, Mr. Bommai said that “to set up genome sequence lab systems has to be placed, I have instructed Health and Family Welfare department secretaries to procure necessary infrastructures to set up genome sequencing lab in the state”, CM said.
Every district has a Covid testing lab, but for genome sequencing lab, there should be expert system should be needed. Now for higher reference, the sample has been sending to the National Centre of Biological Science (NCBS)very soon testing report will be available, Mr. Bommai said.
