Six Army personnel conferred Shaurya Chakra

New Delhi: On the occasion of 75th Independence Day, six Army personnel were awarded Shaurya Chakra, 4 Bar to Sena Medal, 116 Sena Medal, and 28 Mention in Dispatches for their acts of gallantry in different operations.

For neutralising two hardcore terrorists during an operation in Jammu and Kashmir in June last year, Major Arun Kumar Pandey has been awarded the Shaurya Chakra.

Since April 2019, Major Ravi Kumar Chaudhary participated and exhibited exceptional resoluteness, unsurpassed fortitude and supreme leadership qualities during the conduct of four successful operations of the Battalion, resulting in the elimination of 13 terrorists.

For saving his fellow soldier’s life and eliminating a hardcore terrorist, Captain Ashutosh Kumar of 18 Madras Regiment has been awarded the Shaurya Chakra posthumously. He was leading the Ghatak platoon of his unit during the operation in Jammu and Kashmir in November last year.
