Smriti Irani, Bhupender Yadav inducted into key cabinet panel

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reconstituted Cabinet Committee on political affairs inducting Union Ministers, Smriti Irani, Bhupender Yadav and Sarbananda Sonawal.
Cabinet Committee on Political Affairs taking important political decisions for states. After expansion of the Cabinet, Prime Minister has included three ministers into Cabinet Committee on Political Affairs.
For Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs, Prime Minister has given place to union ministers, Virendra Kumar, Kiren Rijiju and Anurag Singh Thakur. This committee is headed by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. Centre has issued the notification in this regard.
However government has not changed the composition of the country's highest decision making body on security affairs -- the Cabinet Committee on Security -- and the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, it will take the important decisions regarding appointments in the government level of joint secretary and above.
The Prime Minister, the Defence Minister, Home Minister Amit Shah, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar are the members of Cabinet Committee on Security.
