2 dead, 10 missing as flash floods wreak havoc in Himachal Pradesh

Shimla: At least two people died, ten others are missing, following flash floods at Boh village in Kangra district, Himachal Pradesh.

National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) personnel are engaged in rescue operations at Boh village.

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister, Jairam Thakur, said, "Two people died in the last two days due to heavy rainfall in the State. Rescue operation for 10 missing people is underway in Kangra. I'll visit Dharmshala to take cognizance."

According to reports, flood waters swept through the streets of Bhagsu Nag village, damaging parked vehicles. The district administration has instructed tourists to postpone their visit to Dharamsala in view of the heavy rains.

In Shimla, the national highway near Jhakri in the Rampur area has been blocked due to the heavy downpour, ANI reported.
