The Kashmir Files marching towards entering the club of Rs 250 crore.

The Kashmir Files is a blockbuster of enormous scale. With the way the movie, which had a budget of roughly Rs 30 crore, was performing, even a Rs 350 crore figure seemed attainable. However, in its third and fourth weeks, the picture did not perform as well as one would have hoped.

Bengaluru: Vivek Agnihotri directed The Kashmir Files has earned Rs 246.83 crore since it was released on March 11. The film, which is based on the exodus of Kashmiri Hindus, has been a blockbuster hit and has dominated the box office, but now the collections are dropping.

The movie stars Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Pallavi Joshi, and Darshan Kumaar.

The Kashmir Files had a very good run at the box office despite big films being released the week after its release. Akshay Kumar’s Bachchhan Paandey, Alia Bhat’s Gangubai Kathiawadi did not affect its run, and even SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus RRR had very little impact on the earnings of the movie.

The film became a blockbuster hit due to strong word-of-mouth publicity and positive reviews, as well as controversies. It earned Rs 0.60 crore on Day 28, which was less than the prior days. Meanwhile, on Thursday, April 7, it had an overall Hindi occupancy of 11.62 per cent.

RRR is the second post-pandemic film to attain this milestone, following Vivek Agnihotri's The Kashmir Files. RRR has matched and is projected to outperform The Kashmir Files in all regions.

In the second spot, The Kashmir Files is likely to remain, as RRR is continuing its run. In Hindi cinema, TKF is the first film of the year to achieve the Rs 250 crore milestone.
