With just 30 days for Assembly elections, including 3 ministers, ten BJP MLAs have resigned to the BJP, in which two former ministers and 8 BJP former mlas joined Samajwadi Party.

Lucknow:  Powerful OBC leaders and former ministers in Yogi Adiyanatha government, Swami Prasad Maurya and Dharam Singh Saini, joined the Samajwadi Party here on Friday.

Along with Mr. Maurya and Dharam Singh Saini, five BJP MLAs, Roshnlal Verma, Brijesh Prajapati, Mukesh Verma, Vinay Shakya and Bhagwati Sagar, also Chaudhary Amar Singh of Apna Dal joined SP in presence of Akhilesh Yadav.

Came down heavily of Yogi Adityanath government, former minister Swamy Prasad Maurya said, “today the conch shell has sounded for the end of the BJP. By misleading the people of the Country and state, the BJP has thrown dust in their eyes and exploited people. Uttar Pradesh has to be freed of exploitation”, he said.

Mr. Maurya, quit Yogi government on Tuesday, he said that BJP was deaf to the problems of the backward classes, His resignation will be earthquake and start of the end for the BJP.

Soon after Maurya’s resignation, 10 BJP MLAs including two ministers resigned to the bjp.

In 2017 the BJP's strategy was to win over the non-Yadav OBC castes given Mr Yadav's most loyal voters are seen to be Yadavs and Muslims.

This time round, the Samajwadi Party leader's gameplan is to pull in the non-Yadav OBC leaders.
