Uttar Pradesh Elections 2022: SP allies pledge to make Akhilesh Yadav next CM
UP Assembly elections are scheduled to be held from 10 February to 7 March 2022 in seven phases to elect all 403 seats.
Lucknow: Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday held a meeting in Lucknow with leaders of allies in the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Elections 2022.
Akhilesh Yadav's uncle Shivpal Yadav, founder of Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party (Lohia), Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leaders and Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party leaders participated in the meeting.
Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party chief Om Prakash Rajbhar said, "We have pledged to make Akhilesh Yadav the next CM of Uttar Pradesh. The list of candidates of the SP-led alliance will be released in a phased manner. My party will not contest in the first and second phases."
NCP president Sharad Pawar on Tuesday said his party would contest the ensuing Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh as part of the Samajwadi Party-led alliance. He also said 13 members of the Legislative Assembly in Uttar Pradesh will be joining the Samajwadi Party.
UP Assembly elections are scheduled to be held from 10 February to 7 March 2022 in seven phases to elect all 403 members of the Legislative Assembly. The votes will be counted and the results will be declared on 10 March 2022.
