"Won't allow anyone to take law into their hands," DK Shivakumar on police officials wearing political outfit's dresses
Siddaramaiah-led Karnataka government has directed the police officials in the state to make sure that there is no 'saffronisation' and 'moral policing' in the state.
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Tuesday instructed police officials to make sure there is "no saffronisation" and "no moral policing" in the state. The Karnataka CM also gave other instructions with regards to priority concerns for the police during a meeting held at the Vidhansoudha. He told officials that people have elected a new government expecting change and they should ‘respond to their problems’. Traffic-related issues, cybercrime, drug mafia, and hooliganism are some of the key concerns that government wants police to keep high on their priority list.
"That is what we have instructed all the senior Police officials - no saffronisation, no moral policing...," CM Siddaramaiah was quoted saying by ANI on Wednesday. "People have elected a new government with the expectation of change. Officials should work to respond to their problems," he added. He also informed that a separate meeting will be held to discuss the issue of traffic congestion in Bengaluru.
