1st Anniversary of Education Policy: Indian Sign language now a subject

New Delhi: On the occasion of the first anniversary of the National Education Policy (NEP), PM Narendra Modi announced Indian Sign language as a subject.

In a virtual meeting, PM Modi said, "Indian Sign language has been designated as a subject now. Students can opt to study this. It will promote Indian sign language and will help differently-abled people".

PM Modi said, "The program of artificial intelligence (AI) launched now will also make our youngsters future-oriented and will create a way for AI-driven economy".

Also, the prime minister launched multiple initiatives; the Academic Bank of Credit that will provide multiple entry and exit options for students in Higher education; 1st Year Engineering Programmes in Regional Languages and Guidelines for Internationalization of Higher Education.

These initiatives pave for the realization of the goals of NEP 2020. They will make the education sector more vibrant and accessible.
