Punjab Elections 2022: 6-member committee will decide seat-sharing pact soon, says BJP leader
The BJP has decided to field candidates on all seats in the state in alliance with Capt. PLC's Amarinder Singh and SAD-Sanyukt led by Sukhdev S Dhindsa.
Chandigarh: Six-member committee would decide a seat-sharing pact between BJP, Punjab Lok Congress and Shiromani Akali Dal (Sanyukt) for the upcoming Punjab Assembly elections in 2022.
The BJP has decided to field candidates on all seats in the state in alliance with Capt. PLC's Amarinder Singh and SAD-Sanyukt led by Sukhdev S Dhindsa.
Union Minister and BJP leader Som Parkash told news agency that BJP's stand was very clear, the party would contest Punjab Assembly Polls on all seats with an alliance with Capt Amarinder Singh (Punjab Lok Congress chief), Sukhdev S Dhindsa (SAD-Sanyukt Chief).
Som Parkash said, "Six-member committee will decide a seat-sharing pact between BJP, Punjab Lok Congress and SAD (Sanyukt) for the Punjab Assembly elections on the criteria of winnability in the next 2-3 days, otherwise, senior leadership will take the decision soon."
Former Punjab chief minister Capt. Amarinder Singh on Monday held a meeting with Union home minister Amit Shah and BJP president J.P. Nadda in New Delhi to discuss the seat-sharing formula for the coming Punjab Assembly elections, where the two have announced an alliance.
