Indrajit Lankesh challenges police to take action against Darshan
Filmmaker and journalist Indrajit Lankesh has made serious allegations against Sandalwood star Darshan that his 'gang' beat up a Dalit hotel staff a month ago. The alleged incident took place in Sandesh Prince hotel owned by Darshan's friend and film producer Sandesh Nagaraj.
The issue took a serious turn with Indrajit Lankesh approaching the Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai with it. He has alleged that the police covered up the incident after a 'settlement'. The Home Minister, speaking to the media, said he has directed the police in Mysuru to investigate the issue.
Darshan and his friends, including Rakesh Papanna and Pavithra Gowda were present when the supplier was beaten up, Lankesh has claimed. The supplier almost lost his eyesight. When the supplier's wife confronted Darshan and his friends, they arrived at a settlement, Lankesh has said. He also alleged that the CCTV footage of the incident has been erased.
The reason for Lankesh complaining to the Home Minister was the alleged involvement of the police in the alleged 'settlement deal.'
