9th Operation Ganga flight carrying 218 Indians departs from Bucharest
The seventh flight of Operation Ganga, carrying 182 Indian people rescued from military conflict Ukraine, has arrived in Mumbai from Bucharest, Romania. The eighth flight of Operation Ganga has taken off from Budapest bound for Delhi.
Mumbai: The ninth Operation Ganga flight carrying 218 Indian nationals stranded in Romania has left Bucharest for New Delhi, said External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Tuesday.
He announced on the microblogging site Twitter, adding, "We will not rest until our Indian brothers and sisters are safe. The ninth Operation Ganga flight, carrying 218 Indian people, left Bucharest for New Delhi".

Union Minister General (retd) VK Singh, who is overseeing the evacuation from Poland, has asked Indians to stay in place and not leave unless directed to, and to be cool and not panic. He told them that they would be evacuated safely.
Shakambari, an Indian student, released a video on Twitter saying that they had been stuck in a bunk for three days without food or water. She further alleged that the Indians stranded there were unable to contact their families in India and demanded assistance from the Indian embassy.

According to the Indian Embassy in Ukraine, 400 students who had been sheltered near the embassy since February 24 have safely left Kyiv by train thanks to the mission's assistance. According to the statement, the embassy facilitated the relocation of over 1,000 students from Kyiv to western Ukraine. and urged the few remaining students in Kyiv to leave once the curfew was lifted.
The government has started "Operation Ganga" to help stranded students and Indian nationals return from military conflict in Ukraine. Under "Operation Ganga," Air India is arranging special aircraft to bring back stranded Indians.
According to sources, over 2,000 Indians were returned home as part of "Operation Ganga," and the total number of Indians who have left Ukraine since India issued the initial advisory earlier this month is around 8,000.
Russia launched an attack on Ukraine five days ago. After tensions between the two countries rose, India began issuing recommendations in mid-February, urging Indians to consider leaving Ukraine.
