Aamir Khan regrets chasing dreams; decided to quit acting

Mumbai: There's a reason why Aamir Khan is known as Mr. Perfectionist in Bollywood. The actor has always been picky about his movies. He is well-known for giving his best in all movies. However, this is the same reason he has begun to regret it.

In a recent event, Aamir revealed during the 'ABP Ideas of India' event in Mumbai that he had not been able to spend time with his loved ones since he was so preoccupied with the movies. In fact, he considered retiring from acting, but his ex-wife, Kiran Rao, and his children prevented him from doing so. Aamir spoke up about his personal life in that event.

According to The Indian Express, Aamir Khan stated in Hindi, "I feel like I've spent my life chasing and attempting to fulfil my aspirations. But I didn't pay attention to my loved ones on this adventure. My parents, siblings, wards, first wife Reena, second wife Kiran, and their parents... Perhaps I wasn't able to devote enough time to them. My daughter is now 23 years old. I'm sure she wished she could have had my presence in her life when she was younger. She will have experienced her own emotions, fears, dreams, and hopes. I'm sorry I wasn't there for her."

"We know we'll run out of time one day, but we don't know when," he added. I got a harsh realization about this, and that I'd been living my life in a trance, and I'd lost a lot as a result."

Aamir believes that raising one's children with the proper morals is the most important contribution one can give to their country, and the actor was not present. This irritated him to the point where he wanted to leave the industry.

His children, on the other hand, had informed him, "You've spent more time with us in three months than you've ever spent with us; leave us alone now."

Kiran, he said, was sobbing and stopped him from making such a decision.
