Agriculture plays crucial role in next 25 years, says PM Modi
New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi released the 9th instalment of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme, via video conferencing on Monday. The prime minister virtually transferred about Rs. 19,500 crore to over 9.75 crore farmers, under the scheme. He also interacted with the beneficiaries of the scheme via video conferencing during the event.
The Prime Minister said agriculture will play crucial roke when the country celebrates 100 years of independence.
The prime minister said, "What would be India's condition when it completes 100 years of independence in 2047? Our farming, villages and farmers will play crucial role in deciding it. It's time to provide such direction to agriculture that it'll be able to face new challenges and benefit from new opportunities".

"The nation will be celebrating its 75th Independence Day this year. This important milestone is not only a matter of pride for us but also an occasion for new resolutions and goals. On this occasion, we have to decide that where do we want to see India in the next 25 years", said PM Modi.
The prime minister appreciated farmers for their perseverance during the pandemic.
"We've seen the strength of India's farmers even at the time of pandemic. Amid record production, Government also made an effort to minimise the difficulties of farmers. From providing seeds and fertilisers, to helping the farmers take their produce to markets, government made all efforts, said the prime minister.
Union agriculture minister Narendra Singh Tomar, Union ministers of State for agriculture Kailash Choudhary and Shobha Karandlaje, as well as agriculture secretary Sanjay Aggarwal were also present on the occasion
