BJP MLAs, ministers oppose statewide weekend curfew, Covid tough rules

Shivamogga: Not only opposition Congress has criticized the Covid tough rules imposed by the state government, but BJP MLAs and Ministers have also opposed the state government decision of imposing weekend curfew in the state.
Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister K.S.Eshwarappa, objected to the state government decision of imposing a statewide weekend curfew. He said that there is no need to impose restrictions statewide, restrictions should be imposed where Covid cases are more, he opinioned.
“What is the necessity to impose statewide restrictions for conducting public functions and religious gathering, Restrictions should be needed where more number of cases registered. I will tell my opinion in the Cabinet meeting tomorrow. Due to restrictions, poor and working classes will be affected”, he added.
Meanwhile, Home Minister Araga Jnanendra has defended the annual fair of Rameshwara temple in his home constituency Thirthahalli.
Rameshwara temple fair is going on for three days. Due to pressure from devotees, the fair has been conducted, temple fair has been conducted after following Covid norms, Mr. Jnanendra said.
Meanwhile, BJP has broken Covid norms at Party’s Backward Classes executive meeting held in Shivamogga. In the meeting, party leaders, ministers and workers have not maintained social distance and do not wear masks. Congress has taken swipe at bjp for breaking Covid rules.
However, both Eshwarappa and Araga Jnanendra opposed the Congress decision of conducting Mekedatu Padayatra. By conducting Padayatra, Congress is pushing people into risk, he urged the Congress should cancel its Padayatra.
BJP MLAs have also opposed the government decision of imposing weekend curfew and restrictions at public places. The government decision of imposing a statewide curfew would affect the normal life of the people, BJP MLAs argued.
