Bommai meets Union Ministers, seeks clearance for ongoing projects
Bengaluru: During his two days tour to Delhi, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai met Union Ministers Nirmala Sitharaman, Nitin Gadkari, Hardeep Singh Puri, Ashwini Vaishnav, Jitendra Singh, persuaded them to release pending financial grants and seeking clearance for ongoing developmental projects in the state.
Chief Minister had visited Delhi for both personal and official visit, on Tuesday he had attended the marriage reception of the daughter of Prahlad Joshi, Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs.
After that Mr. Joshi had met Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, requested her to pending released grants to the state.
While meeting with the Minister of State for the Ministry of Science and Technology and Minister of the state ministry of earth science, Jitendra Prasad, Mr. Bommai had discussed to establishing Electronic Manufacturing Cluster between Bengaluru- Kolar road an extent of 400 acres. The Centre has agreed to set up the cluster. Besides, Minister has agreed to a Fiber extension special scheme to the state. Mr. Bommai said that the Centre has responded positively to set up Skill Development Centre in the state.
During a discussion with Union Minister for Road Transport and National Highways, Mr. Nitin Gadkari, approved to take up Satellite town ring road from Dabaspete to Hosur road under the Bharath Mala project. The Centre has agreed to resolve the land acquisition issue and is also assured to complete the road project within six months. The proposed construction of the road would help decongestion of traffic in the city.
Regarding Shiradi Ghat, the Centre will take up a four-lane road project in the Shiradi Ghat stretch. A four-lane road in the Ghat section would be taken up. Besides the Mr. Gadkari was also assured to take up tunnel project in Shiradi ghat. However, Centre agreed to take up the four-lane project in Shiradi Ghat on a priority basis. The Centre has agreed to extend the length of Vijayapura to Sankeshwar Highway from the existing 80km to 160 km, Mr. Bommai said. Mr. Gadkari has also agreed to release Rs. 184 crore towards flood damage. Due to heavy rain, the national highway stretch in the state has been damaged.
Mr. Bommai has met the Union Minister of Railways Mr. Ashwini Vaishnaw, Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs, Mr. Hardeep Singh Puri, discussed ongoing projects in the state.
Bommai cabinet minister R. Ashok, V. Somanna, Govinda Karjol were present during his meeting with Union Ministers.
