PM Modi slams Congress, says its history is about "appeasing terror and terrorists"
Chitradurga (K'taka), May 2 (PTI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday alleged that the Congress's history is about "appeasing terror and terrorists", and the party had allegedly questioned the country's defence forces, when the surgical strikes and air strikes had been carried out.
Also accusing the Congress and JD(S) of "encouraging terror", the Prime Minister said they could never increase investment in Karnataka or create new opportunities for youth in the state.
"People of Karnataka should never forget Congress's history and thinking. Congress's history is about appeasing terror and terrorists. When the Batla House encounter happened in Delhi, there were tears in the eyes of Congress's top most leader, hearing about the death of terrorists," Modi claimed.
Addressing a public meeting here, he said, "When surgical strikes happened, when air strikes happened, Congress raised questions on the capability of the country's defence forces.".
"In Karnataka, you have seen how Congress is encouraging terrorism. Congress had left Karnataka to the 'rehemokaram' (mercy) of terrorists. It is the BJP that broke the back of the terrorists, and has ended the game of appeasement," he claimed, adding that for a prosperous Karnataka, it was important for the state to be safe.
Union Minister A Narayanaswamy and Davangere MP G M Siddeshwara, among others, were present.
"Usually when a company brings out a product in the market, it gives warranty for it and says after the warranty is over the company is not responsible," Modi said. "Congress's warranty has ended. Congress has lost the trust. In such a case, guarantees by the Congress without warranty are nothing but lies.".
Modi also claimed that the Congress had an "old track record of false guarantees". He claimed that the Congress in 2012 had "tried to confuse the people of Gujarat with such false guarantees", and "some people had even tried to loot the poor people" in the name of guarantees.
"It's such a situation for Congress in Gujarat now, that it has to get people from other states to hold its flag," he claimed.
Noting that the Congress in Karnataka too was getting "forms of its guarantees filled", the Prime Minister said, "There should be an inquiry on how much bribe the Congress is taking by showing the forms of false guarantees.".
Congress knows clearly that the people of Karnataka would not allow it to come to power, so it is making big false promises, he claimed. "The amount which will be required for Congress's guarantees is so much that Karnataka's treasury will become empty, and still they cannot be fulfilled. So they are only for the sake of telling people. If it has to be implemented, all other work will have to be stopped. Congress may also put all BJP's welfare schemes into reverse gear for it," Modi claimed.
Asserting that the BJP was seeking votes with a road map for a developed Karnataka, Modi, without mentioning any names said, "Congress has only two issues -- it is asking for votes in the name of retirement and to make (sic) Chief Minister one last time in their manifesto." He was apparently referring to Congress leader and former CM Siddaramaiah, who has announced that this will be his last election.
"Congress's other agenda is to abuse and instigate people," he alleged. "They abuse OBC and Lingayat community. "They have abused me over 90 times and are marching towards century... Congress did not even leave S Nijalingappa (late former CM and veteran leader) who is from Chitradurga. The Congress which abused him can make a century in abusing," he added.
Calling on people to root out the 'Congress's corruption kaal' from every corner of the country and to bring in developed India's 'Amrit Kaal' everywhere, Modi said the same thing had to be done in Karnataka too, by bringing in the BJP government with a full majority.
Congratulating the Karnataka BJP and its leadership for its manifesto released on Monday, the Prime Minister said it was a very good manifesto, which had the road map to make Karnataka the number one state. .
"It has the blueprint for modern infrastructure, it has priority for women and youth empowerment..." he said.
.
Asking people to be "alert" about the Congress and JD(S), Modi said, "Both are 'parivarwadis' (dynasts), both support corruption and indulge in divisive politics, and Karnataka's development is never their priority.".
He also said that Congress could never compete with the BJP's developmental work. PTI KSU RS KSU.
