Charanjit Singh Channi says, 'Punjab Govt stands with farmers in fight against farm laws'
Chandigarh: Newly sworn-in Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi, addressing the first press meet on Monday said, his government stands with the farmers in their fight against controversial farm laws.
Punjab CM Charanjit Singh Channi turned emotional while addressing his first press conference in Chandigarh and said, "Congress has made a common man the chief minister."
On the ongoing farmer's protest against the three farm laws, Channi said, "Punjab government stands with the farmers. We appeal to the Centre to withdraw the three farm laws."

"We will waive the water and electricity bills of farmers, " he added.
He assured that his government would take forward outgoing CM Captain Amarinder Singh's good work for the people of Punjab.
"The party is supreme, not the CM or the cabinet. The government will work as per the party's ideology," said Channi.
Earlier, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Punjab Congress chief Navjot Singh Sidhu, and the party's state in-charge Harish Rawat met the Charanjit Singh Channi, and his deputies Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa and OP Soni who also took oath today.
