Hyderabad: Ghattamaneni Ramesh Babu (56), son of Tollywood superstar Krishna and elder brother of superstar Mahesh Babu passed away in Hyderabad on Saturday. Tollywood fraternity expressed deep condolences on the sudden demise of Ramesh Babu.
According to reports, Ramesh Babu passed away on Saturday evening in the city due to liver-related health complications.
Ramesh Babu was born in Chennai, Tamil Nadu to prominent Telugu Cinema Actor Krishna and his first wife Indira Devi on 13 October 1965. He is the firstborn of his parents. He has three younger sisters, actress-producer Manjula Ghattamaneni, Padmavathi and Priyadarshini and one younger brother, Mahesh Babu a prominent actor in Telugu Cinema.
Ramesh Babu made debut in 1974 with ‘Alluri Sitaramaraju’. Later, he went on to share screen space with both Krishna and Mahesh Babu in various Telugu films. After he quit acting, Ramesh Babu ventured into productions. He established a film production company named Krishna Productions Private Ltd in Hyderabad.
Mahesh Babu, who is under home isolation as he tested positive for COVID-19, has penned an emotional note on his 'Annayya' elder brother. He writes, "You have been my inspiration. You have been my strength. You have been my courage. You have been my everything. If not for you, I would not have been half the man I am today. Thank you for everything you've done for me. Now just rest...rest...In this life and if at all I have another, you’ll always be my 'Annaya'. Love you forever and ever and ever."
