Chhattisgarh: Video of a man carrying her daughter’s dead body goes viral
According to preliminary information, the girl died on Friday morning at a community health centre (CHC) in the district's Lakhanpur village. Her father carried her body away.
Chhattisgarh government has ordered for a probe after a video of a man carrying the dead body of his seven-year-old daughter on his shoulder went viral in the Surguja district.
Health Minister T.S. Singh Deo said that he has ordered a detailed enquiry into the matter to the district authorities.
According to preliminary information, the girl died on Friday morning at a community health centre (CHC) in the district's Lakhanpur village. Her father carried her body away before a hearse arrived.
Sources said Ishwar Das, a native of Amdala village had brought his ailing daughter Surekha to Lakhanpur CHC in the early morning, she was suffering from fever, and her oxygen level was around 60. Despite best efforts from the doctor, her condition continued to worsen and she passed away at 7.30 am said Rural Medical Assistant of the health centre Dr Vinod Bhargav.

The man may be seen in the footage carrying the body on his shoulders. He walked around 10 kilometres to get home.
