The Indian Army sought assistance from China's PLA in locating a missing boy Miran Taron from Arunachal Pradesh and returning him as per established protocol.

New Delhi: The Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) has handed over the young boy from Arunachal Pradesh Miram Taron to the Indian Army on Thursday. 

Union Minister Kiren Rijiju said due procedures are being followed including the medical examination. The Chinese PLA handed over the young boy to Indian Army at WACHA-DAMAI interaction point in Arunachal Pradesh.

"I thank our proud Indian Army for pursuing the case meticulously with PLA and safely securing our young boy back home," said Rijiju in a tweet. 

Miram Taron, a resident of Zido village of Upper Siang district, was part of a group that was hunting in the border area between both countries on January 20. 

Tapir Gao, BJP MP from Arunachal- East, alleged that Miram Taron was abducted from inside Indian territory, his friend escaped from PLA and reported to the authorities. Also, Tapir Gao requested the Government of India to take measures to an early release of the boy.

PRO Defence, Tezpur Lt Col Harshvardhan Pandey told news agency ANI that the Chinese Army has communicated to us that they have found a missing boy from Arunachal Pradesh and the due procedure is being followed.
