Chinese tortured abducted Arunachal boy, alleges BJP MP
Gao further alleged that PLA troops abduct people when they go hunting and collecting herbs in the border areas.
New Delhi: Tapir Gao, BJP MP from Arunachal Pradesh, accused China's PLA of torturing Arunachali youth Miram Taron who crossed over to the Chinese side of the border.
Arunachali youth Miram Taron was handed over by the Chinese Army to the Indian Army at WACHA-DAMAI interaction point in Arunachal Pradesh on January 27.
Tapir Gao, BJP MP, said, "I've received news that Miram Taron (who was handed over to India by PLA on Jan 27 days after he went missing) was beaten up and given electric shocks by PLA. This is a serious matter. I urge Government to raise this issue with the authorities concerned."
Gao further alleged that PLA troops abduct people when they go hunting and collecting herbs in the border areas.
"This issue is not limited to Miram Taron. We have dense jungles in border areas where intruding PLA troops abduct our people when they go hunting and collecting herbs. Such incidents will keep happening until we resolve the boundary," Gao said.
Miram Taron, a resident of Zido village of Upper Siang district, was part of a group that was hunting in the border area between both countries on January 20.
