Congress don't want RSS mindset leaders: Rahul Gandhi
New Delhi: Sending a clear message to dissidents leaders in the party, Rahul Gandhi said that the party needs fearless leaders, categorically stated that there is no place for those who have embraced RSS ideology.
Speaking to party workers via video link here, Mr. Rahul Gandhi said that many people are not afraid, but they are outside the Congress. Party should bring them into the party fold.
Those who are afraid, through them out. Chalo bhaiya jao. RSS ke taraf bhago. Nahin chahiye. (please leave, run to RSS, we don’t want you). The party don’t want you to being in party, Mr. Rahul Gandhi said.
We want fearless people in the party, those who have accept our ideology, please bring them into party fold. Congress leader’s remarks came after his close aides, Jyotiraditya Scindia and Jitin Prasad, deserted the Congress and joined the BJP.
Mr. Gandhi also aimed a gun at his dissenters in the party. Senior leaders have written to Congress President Sonia Gandhi complaining about leadership after the party defeated Assembly elections in many states.
Sources said that while meeting with elections strategist Prashant Kishor, Mr. Gandhi told him to bring structural reforms within the party. Sources also said that Mr.Gandhi likely to give a formal role to him in the party ahead of the UP elections in next year.
Both Mr. Scindia and Jitin Prasad are close aides of the Gandhi family. Mr. Scindia had played a major role in Madyapradesh to bring the Shivaraj Singh Chouhan government. Mr. Jitin Prasad has joined the BJP ahead of the UP elections. He may get a bigger role in the party.
