Consumer court directs Pizza outlet to pay Rs. 11000 fine to customer
Hyderabad: Consumer court has ordered a Pizza outlet to pay Rs. 11,000 to a consumer for forcing him to buy a carry bag.
The pizza outlet has asked the customer to buy a carry bag with the firm’s logo for Rs. 7.62. Applicant K. Muruli Kumar, student has approached the consumer court regarding the mandatory demand of the Pizza outlet.
Court has allowed the application, ordered fine of Rs. 11,000 to the Pizza outlet. The complainant has ordered a Pizza takeaway on September 16, 2019, he was asked to pay additional charges of Rs. 7.62, but the complainant has refused to pay the additional charges for carry bag.
The applicant further stated that the Pizza outlet has demanded an additional amount and it was nothing but harassment, however, the Pizza outlet has denied the charges.
