India's first-ever POD hotel opened at Mumbai Central station
The Railway Ministry has offered the luxury and amenities of a hotel room in compact form at affordable prices with these Pod retiring rooms.
Mumbai: India's first-ever Pod retiring rooms in Mumbai Central Railway station, Western Railways, have been inaugurated on Wednesday. Union Minister of State for Railways, Coal and Mines, Rao Saheb Danve, virtually inaugurated the state-of-the-art POD concept retiring rooms.
The Railway Ministry has offered the luxury and amenities of a hotel room in compact form at affordable prices with these Pod retiring rooms.
According to a senior Western Railway (WR) official, one has to pay Rs 999 for 12 hours and Rs 1,999 for 24 hours for staying in this pod hotel where facilities like WiFi, TV, a small locker, adjustable mirror, and reading lights etc will be provided.
