Dhanbad Judge death case: Pathardih Police Station officer-in-charge suspended
Ranchi: Officer-in-charge of Pathardih Police Station Umesh Manjhi has been suspended in connection with the alleged killing of Dhanbad Additional District Judge Uttam Anand.
A day after the Supreme Court took suo motu cognizance of the alleged killing of an Additional District Judge, Uttam Anand. The top court bench, headed by Chief Justice of India (CJI) Ramana, said it had come across many instances of attacks on judicial officers and lawyers and wanted to address the safety and security of the judicial officers in India.
Also, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren recommended a CBI investigation into the death case.

Judge Uttam Anand, who was on a morning walk, was killed under suspicious circumstances after an autorickshaw rammed into him. The police have registered a case of murder on suspicion of foul play in the judge’s death. An SIT has been formed to investigate the case. They are going through sensitive cases the now-deceased judge had handled, according to reports.
