Russian airstrikes, missile attacks hits Kyiv, 137 people killed
Ukraine opened with air and missile attacks on Ukrainian military facilities before troops and tanks rolled across the borders from the north, east and south.
Kyiv: Bombardment continued in various cities of Ukraine including its capital Kyiv by Russia. Airstrikes hits multistoried buildings in Kiyv including its strategic military infrastructure facilities.
On Friday night Russian missiles hit Kyiv city, Associated Press and Al Jazeera reported that major casualties had taken place in the city. According to the latest report over 137 people have died.
It was the major military strike after the second world war. The major European country has been invaded by another European country.
Not deterred with severe economic sanctions by the European countries including the US, Russia has continued its attack against Ukraine and captured its airbase in Kiyv. Russian troops have entered the Kiev and taken into possession of major establishments including its airbase.

The Ukrainian military has fought back on multiple fronts. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in a video address early on Friday that 137 people, both servicemen and civilians, have been killed and hundreds more wounded, Al Jazeera reported.
Russia has invaded Ukraine by air, ground and sea. A senior United States defence official said Russia may be intent on seizing Kyiv, the capital, and other key cities and ultimately installing a more friendly government.
As Ukrainian forces fougMarht back and civilians piled into trains and cars to flee, the US and European leaders rushed to punish Russia with strong financial sanctions. NATO moved to strengthen its eastern flank.
The Russian leader warned other countries that any attempt to interfere in Ukraine would “lead to consequences you have never seen in history”.
Putin accused the US and its allies of ignoring Russia’s demands to block Ukraine from ever joining NATO and offer Moscow security guarantees.
People have been shifted to a safer zone in Kiev, sources said that people have started moving from the city, huge traffic jams in Kyiv city on Friday evening.
Mariupol city was worst affected by the Russian attack. People are pleading for help and they were lined up before the ATM counters to withdraw the money. However, Ukraine's central banks have imposed the transactions limit on its people. Only limited money can be withdrawn by the people.
Meanwhile, European Union has unanimously resolved to impose severe economic sanctions against Russia and urged to stop its military attack against Ukraine.

US President Joe Biden said that the penalties will be severe, and will have a lasting impact on Russia's economy.
He further said that those measures, on top of a raft of other sanctions already announced this week, will make Putin "a pariah on the international stage," he said.
The US President confirmed that for now there was no attempt to put sanctions directly on Russian President Vladimir Putin, who is widely reported to have amassed a huge, secret fortune during his two decades in power, NDTV reported.

Russia's Defence Ministry said its first day of the Ukraine invasion had achieved all its goals and that it had destroyed 83 land-based Ukrainian targets. Ukraine said Russia had carried out 203 attacks in which at least 137 Ukrainians were killed since the beginning of the day.
Ukraine's military said it had destroyed four Russian tanks near Kharkiv, killed 50 troops near a town in the Luhansk region, and downed six Russian warplanes in the east. Russia denied reports its aircraft or armoured vehicles had been destroyed. Russian-backed separatists claimed to have downed two Ukrainian planes.
