Dhanbad Judge killed: Police arrests 2, SIT formed
Dhanbad: Dhanbad Additional Sessions Judge Uttam Anand, who was on a morning walk, was killed under suspicious circumstances after an autorickshaw rammed into him.
Ashwani Dubey, Advocate in Supreme Court, shared the CCTV footage of the accident on Twitter. The advocate claimed that The judge was dealing with a few high-profile murder cases from d area and had recently rejected bail applications of notorious few criminals.
The police have registered a case of murder on suspicion of foul play in the judge’s death. An SIT has been formed to investigate the case. The investigators are questioning several people. They are going through sensitive cases the now-deceased judge had handled, according to reports.
"Based on facts that came up during investigation and CCTV footage, 2 people and auto involved in the crime were identified. Two people - Lakhan Kumar Verma and Rahul Verma - arrested and auto was seized from their possession. They've confessed to the crime", Amol Vinukant Homkar, IG, was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.
Banna Gupta, Health Minister, Jharkhand, has instructed deputy commissioner and SSP of Dhanbad to submit a report within seven days.
