Extremely heavy rainfall spells over Tamil Nadu is likely during 10th -11th November, according to weather report by India Meteorological Department (IMD).
Chennai: Extremely heavy rainfall spells over Tamil Nadu is likely during 10th -11th November, according to weather report by India Meteorological Department (IMD).
As per the report, the cyclonic circulation over the southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining south Andaman Sea extends up to middle tropospheric levels. Under its influence, a low-pressure area is very likely to form over the southeast Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood during the next 24 hours.
It is likely to move west–northwestwards, concentrate into a Depression and reach near north Tamilnadu coast by the early morning of 11th November 2021.

Widespread light to moderate rainfall is very likely over Kerala, south Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu during the next 5 days. Isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely over Tamil Nadu on 08th and 09th and heavy to very heavy rain at a few places with isolated extremely heavy falls are very likely on 10th and 11th November 2021.
Also, heavy to very heavy rain with extremely heavy falls at isolated places is also likely over south coastal Andhra Pradesh during the same period.
Meanwhile, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDRF) has been deployed across a few cities in Tamil Nadu to monitor the situation. Chief Minister MK Stalin inspected some of the affected areas and has assured that men and machinery are ready for any emergency.
