Shekhawat assures justice to Karnataka in irrigation projects
Bengaluru: Amidst ongoing discord over the Mekedatu project between Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat has assured justice to Karnataka in pending irrigation projects.
Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, who is in Bengaluru to review the implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission in Karnataka, has assured justice to Karnataka in pending irrigation projects.
Speaking to the media after the review meeting, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat said, "I've reassured CM that I'll look into pending projects, like Mekedatu project. I assured that justice will be given to Karnataka."

Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa again asserted that the state has got every right to implement the Mekedatu project across river Cauvery, despite objections from Tamil Nadu, reported news agency PTI.
He held discussions with Union Jalshakti minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat. He sought clearances from the Centre for implementing Mekedatu and other irrigation projects in the state.
