Farmers' protests to resume on July 22: Rakesh Tikait
New Delhi: Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) leader Rakesh Tikait has called for the resumption of farmers' protests from July 22 in New Delhi.
BKU leader Rakesh Tikait told news agency ANI that the farmers' protest would continue as the Centre was unwilling to talk and 200 people will go every day.
In November 2020, Bharatiya Kisan Union joined the 20-21 farmers' protest against the Farm bill by the Centre.
The union was demanding the declaration of Minimum Support Price (MSP) as a legal right, excluding farmers from the law to curb pollution to allow burning of stubble and removal of the farm bills.
After violence broke out in the National Capital on January 26 2021, Delhi Police filed an FIR against Rakesh Tikait and a few other farmer leaders for their alleged role in inciting violence and breach of the NOC issued by Delhi Police.
