Farmers wrap year-long protest at Delhi border
Finally, farmers have decided to call off their protest at the Delhi border. Farmers from Western UP, Punjab and Hariyana had launched the protest demanding for repeal of three controversial laws.
New Delhi: After a year-long protest against three controversial laws, farmers have decided to wrap up their agitation.
Recently the Centre has withdrawn three controversial laws, same has been withdrawn in the Parliament. Following the Centre’s decision of withdrawing the farms' laws, farmers have decided to withdraw the protest.
However, they have demanded MSP for agricultural produce. After the meeting, Samyukta Kissan Morcha, an umbrella body of protesting farmers had decided to call off the protest. Farmers will officially leave the protest site on December 11. However, few farmers have started leaving the protest site.
A unanimous decision has taken in the meeting of Samyukta Kissan Morcha (SKM). Decided to withdraw their year-old protest at the Delhi border. Farmers are dismantling their temporary structures including tents at the protest site.
The Centre has assured that it will provide MSP for agricultural produce. In fact, the Centre has agreed to all demands put forth by the SKM during the meeting. Farmers are started to leave the place.
